Latest News

We have noticed a significant increase in the amount of calls coming through to the practice over the last month. We understand and thank everyone for their patience over the last year with the restrictions we have had in place in the surgery, however it seems that the calls and requests we are receiving are complex in nature and as such, take us time to sort out on the phone. We are working at capacity with staffing levels at the moment and are answering all calls as quickly and safely as possible.

We would appreciate your ongoing patience and support at these times when we are working to get the surgery back up and running to normal ways of working. If you have several issues to discuss, please advise our reception staff of this when you call so that we can make appropriate adjustments to your telephone consultation appointments. Please also consider using other resources of information such as the NHS Inform website, your local Pharmacy and local services such as your Optician.

Thank you

The way we access urgent care has CHANGED. If you think you urgent attention, but it is not life-threatening, you can call NHS24 on 111 day or night. The team will help direct you to the most appropriate service you require for your needs, often closer to home and without going to A&E. Remember, you can also still contact us here at the surgery Monday to Friday between 8.30am-6.00pm for urgent care or find help online at By continuing to only go to A&E or call 999 in an emergency, we will help keep ourselves and the NHS safe.

If you telephone the surgery looking for an appointment, please note that you will be asked a number of questions by our trained administrative team. This is to allow us to prioritise patients on a clinical need. If your need is urgent, you will be offered a telephone consultation in the first instance with one of the clinicians, who will then assess you over the phone to determine if you require a face to face appointment. If your issue is routine, you will be offered a routine telephone consultation with one of the clinicians in the practice. If the clinician feels you need to be seen face to face, they will arrange a suitable time for you to attend the surgery, however please make a note of the following guidelines for a face to face appointment:

- Please bring a face covering with you for use. If you do not have one, we will provide you with one. Upon arrive, you will be asked to sanitise your hands

- Attend the surgery alone- do not bring any members of your family, including children, unless agreed between you and the clinician

- Do not arrive early: 5 minutes before your appointment time is the most appropriate, otherwise you will be asked to leave the practice and building

- Your appointment time is limited and will only deal with the urgent issue you have. Please make other arrangements if you wish to discuss other matters
